How to Add An Amazon Store To Your Blog
Creating a blog can be a simple way to make money online. There are several ways to make your blog profitable, but one of the easiest is the addition of an Amazon store. You blog about certain products or topics related to those products, and then you offer your readers the products directly from Amazon. One of the reasons the Amazon store idea works so well is everyone knows and trusts Amazon. It is one of the pioneers of online retail as we know it today. If you've got a link leading to a landing page, they'll think twice; but with Amazon, they'll buy.
Don't Be Naive About Product Choices
Let me clear up one misconception quickly: You can't write a review about a $100 Kindle reader and expect people to buy it straight from your blog. They'll read the blog to get information, think about it, and then head to Amazon to buy the tablet. Instead, you need to focus on low-ticket items. Try to focus on selling products that are less than $10. You can write reviews about what you're selling, but I believe a different tactic works better. Teach your readers how to use the products you're selling. For example, write a blog about how to construct a wind turbine and then sell all the stuff they need to build it through your Amazon store.
Adding Your Store
To add an Amazon store, you first have to have an Amazon affiliates account. Scroll down to the bottom of the main page and click the link that says 'Make Money with us.' You'll fill out a sign-up form and confirm by e-mail. Then you're ready to go. On your Amazon affiliates menu, there's a button labeled 'Add an aStore.' It will ask you to create a unique name for tracking your sales. You can put together the actual store by choosing what products you'd like to sell right there. Go back to your blog and create a new page. You'll copy the code for your store from Amazon and place it here on your blog. There are several different types of codes you can use, but the best for WordPress is to use an inline frame. The advantage is that instead of sending them to Amazon like a regular link, it keeps them there on your blog while they shop from Amazon. Once you get the frames placed on your blog, you can mess around with the size and placement of it. Once you're live, tell your readers in a simple message you're now offering some products. Don't make too big of a deal out of it or you'll seem like you're changing your blog. Make sure the products you offer are relevant and wanted by your readers. It doesn't take long to set up an Amazon store on your blog and you can start selling immediately.
