Hi Christian, I agree post penguin its been hard to get one way links to ensure rankings on top.... However I think one way link done in a proper way will not harm post Penguin attack

I wouldn’t say the Penguin update makes my comments on “Link Exchanges” or “Keyword Phrasing” obsolete, quite the opposite. “…only link to another website if there is a genuine reason for it” – I’d say this is relevant today more than ever. Same for advice on keyword phrasing and insertion – “There is no use in hoping for, or attempting to gain, strong search engine positions for keyword phrases which are not related to any of the content on your website.”

This is still good information, especially since SEO is changing on an almost daily basis. I know a number of folks that went the “link farm” route, only to find their sites are now either poorly ranked or missing from searches altogether, so definitely stay away from them!
